Bingiriya UNP PS member arrested over wedding brawl

Bingiriya UNP Pradeshiya Sabha member Heshala Ranjith was arrested by the police this morning (July 1) following a brawl which broke out at a wedding ceremony.

 

The Pradeshiya Sabha member was arrested in the Bingiriya-Wellarawa area.

 

The brawl occurred at a wedding held on June 26 in the Bingiriya area, police stated.

 

Police also stated that complaints had been received from both parties involved in the brawl while six persons had been arrested in connection with the incident. Police have also taken steps to present the suspects to the Hettipola court.

 

The Bingiriya police are conducting further inquiries.
