Eighteen persons have been arrested for the possession heroin following a special search operation carried out in close proximity to the Badulla town.
An estimated 3,500 milligrams of heroin in total was seized from the possession of the suspects, who are all residents of the area, Badulla Police said.
Further investigations are ongoing.
