Fishermen warned of increasing wind speed

Fishing and naval communities warned to be vigilant as the wind speed may increase up to 70kmph in sea area off the coast from Puttalam to Hambantota via Galle, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) said.
The Department of Meteorology stated that winds peed will be 30-50 km/hr over the island and suburb sea areas and may increase up to 70 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Galle.
Naval and fishing communities are requested to be vigilant as deep and shallow sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Galle will be rough and dangerous with strong southwesterly winds upto 70kmp/hr, it said.
