
Walallavita Pradeshiya Sabha chairman, Udeni Atukorale has been further remanded till July 23 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate over alleged bribery charges.
The suspect was arrested on July 05 by officer of the Bribery Commission on charges of soliciting a bribe of Rs 1.5 million from the Bentota Pradeshiya Sabha chairman, in order to provide a permit for the transporting of soil.
Atukorale was ordered remanded until July 09 by Matugama Additional District Judge R.A.J. Rajapaksa, who ordered him to be produced at the Colombo High Court today.
