Lankan among 3 killed in bus crash in UAE

Three workers, two Bangladeshi men and a Sri Lankan man, were killed and 16 injured after the bus they were travelling in crashed in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.
The incident occurred at around 8am on Saturday on Al Qariyah Road 10km from Fujairah City.
The bus belonging to a cleaning company was transporting 19 men from their accommodation to their work place in town.
Major Saleh Mohammed Abdullah, head of investigations at the traffic and patrols department in Fujairah said the driver who was speeding lost control of the bus which veered off the road and hit the pavement.
“The bus crashed into the pavement. Three workers were killed on the spot,” he said. Other workers were trapped in the bus.
All the injured men including the driver were transferred to Fujairah Hospital where they are being treated.
“Four of the workers suffered serious injuries and have been admitted to the intensive care unit,” said Abdullah. – 7DAYS
