The Krrish Group of India stated that it was disheartened by the adverse publicity initiated by certain parties on its project in Sri Lanka while adding that its dealings with the Sri Lankan government and its officials have been extremely transparent.
Krrish group, which is involved a property project in Sri Lanka, had been accused of wrongdoing by recent media reports while allegations of pay-offs involving key officials have also surfaced.
Owner of the Indian business group, Amit Katyal said in a statement that the group was extremely impressed with the enthusiasm and conduct of the Urban Development Authority (UDA) and other government institutes which moved quickly to obtain the necessary approvals for the project.
He added that the project which was conceptualised in mid 2012 has been underway with the consultation of several renowned architects around the world.
The Krrish group however expressed its concern over the bad publicity it had been receiving over the deal including the controversy of a payment delay which it stated was unfounded. The group also warned that such acts could discourage their organization as well as other potential foreign investors from looking at Sri Lanka posititvely.
The statement confirmed that Krrish had paid a sum of Rs. 4250 million to the UDA which constituted 85% of the total payments.
It finally added that the group advised all those who had concerns to support the project and the positive impact that it will have on the country.
