Exhibitions rank first, second and third on the government’s list of priorities while justice and fairness are at the bottom of their list of concerns, UNP MP Ajith P. Perera stated.
Speaking at a press conference held today (July 22) he said that the public representatives were engaged in various corrupt activities including bribery and even shooting firearms for their own personal enjoyment.
He added that law was not being implemented with regards to government politicians who were accused of corruption and crime citing the murder of a foreigner and the rape of his girlfriend in Tangalle as a prime example as the case was still being heard by the court.
If the Siriyalathas and Gunapalas of the village were accused of these crimes, they would have been locked up already, the MP charged.
Meanwhile, he added that MP Dayasiri Jayasekera will never leave the UNP while he is not scheduled to make any special statement in parliament tomorrow.
