Sri Lanka army soldiers are being used to paste posters of Provincial Council election candidates, UNP MP Lakshman Kiriella stated.
Speaking at a press conference held today (July 24) in Colombo, he said this was prevalent in the Central Province especially and charged that he could only imagine the situation in the Northern Province.
He charged that Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe was harassed by an armed group on his Jaffna tour while the members of the TULF experienced similar incidents.
The MP also stated that in the days when the 17th amendment was implemented they could have lodged a complaint with the police but with the executive powers being implemented now it is fruitless act to do so.
