VIDEO: Allegations against Kotte Municipal Council Mayor

The Bribery Commission received a complaint against the Kotte Municipal Council Mayor and three other officials of the MC for allegedly not adhering to tender procedures when awarding a tender worth more thatn Rs.2 billion.
The complaint was made by Kotte Municipal Council member Ranjan Ponnamperuma who stated that he had informed the assembly on the matter last month but it was not followed up after which he decided to file the complaint.
He said that the tender was awarded to a contractor with no experience while he alleged that the contractor was paid before the project was even started.
