Japan’s Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, Yoshitaka Shindo, is scheduled to arrive in the island on Sunday for bilateral discussion to further strengthen the long-standing ties between the two Asian countries.
Minister Shindo will arrive in Sri Lanka on Sunday (July 28) as a follow-up to the visit of President Mahinda Rajapaksa to Tokyo in March and the visit of Deputy Prime Minister of Japan and Parliamentary Senior Vice Minister of Finance, Mr. Taro Aso in May this year, the Japanese embassy in Colombo said.
“During his visit Mr. Shindo will call on President Rajapaksa to discuss bilateral relations with a view to further strengthening the long-standing ties between the two countries,” a release said.
The Japanese Minister will also pay courtesy calls on his counterpart Keheliya Rambukwella, Minister of Mass Media and Information and Basil Rajapaksa, Minister of Economic Development.
