VIDEO: Three-wheeler driver stabbed and killed in Wennappuwa

A three-wheeler driver was stabbed and killed using a sharp object by a group of unknown men near the Lunugama Bridge in Nainamadama, Wennappuwa last night.
Police said the group had climbed into the three-wheeler under the pretence of hiring the driver to transport them to a certain location but instead had attacked him.
Residents in the area had rushed the victim to the Marawila Hospital, however he had succumbed to critical injuries soon after.
The deceased has been identified as a 20-year-old youth from Chilaw.
Police are yet to determine the reason behind the incident as the attackers had also abandoned the victim’s three-wheeler at the scene of the crime.
Wennappuwa Police have launched investigations to arrest the suspect.
