The Colombo High Court has issued warrants for four Australian Nationals through Interpol over a fraud case. The suspects are wanted for taking US $3.2 million from a Sri Lankan investor in order to set up a cable television company within the country.
They have also promised the investor that he would be given the post of Managing Director in the company.
However, the suspects allegedly fled the country and returned to Australia with the money.
The suspects were given notice several times through the Australian High Commission but to no avail. The Colombo High Court therefore issued warrants for their arrests while the case will be taken up again on October 15.
