The Officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Deraniyagala Police Station, Inspector Prabath Deshabandu has been transferred with immediate effect, in the wake of the recent murder of the superintendent of Noori Estate in Deraniyagala.

The Inspector of Police has been transferred to the Padiyathalawa Police Station in the Ampara District, the Police Spokesman’s Office said, adding, that the transfer order was issued under service requirements.
