An elderly patient receiving treatment at the Matara Hospital has committed suicide by hanging himself inside one of the toilets at the hospital this morning.
Hospital authorities suspect that the deceased, a 70-year-old man from Kamburupitiya, had committed suicide due to the mental pressure caused by his ailments.
Matara Police is conducting further investigations.
