Police arrested 36 persons preparing to illegally travel abroad via boat in the Ragama area. The suspects were hiding in a guest house near the Delpe junction in Ragama.
Ten children were among the arrested group along with three women. Two men who allegedly funded and aided the group’s migration were also arrested.
The suspects will be presented to the Mahara Magistrate Court today (August 9).
