A group of parliamentarians of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) are scheduled to hold discussion with officials of the US State Department on Monday, ahead of the highly anticipated polls in the war-torn North, sources said.
The Tamil MPs are expected to brief the US officials regarding the election in the Northern Province and the present political situation in the country.
TNA leader R. Sampanthan and MP M.A. Sumanthiran, who had left for Canada last night, will take part in the discussion, sources within the party said.
The two MPs will reportedly attend a function organized by the TNA branch in Canada before traveling to the US for the discussion.
