A 16-year-old student has drowned while bathing in the Ging Ganga at Baddegama.
The teenager had drowned and disappeared while bathing with a group of relative last evening while his body was recovered this afternoon.
Police had called in the services of Navy divers in order to carry out search operations to recover the body of the victim, a resident of Hammaliya.
Baddegama Police are conducting investigations.
