Kandurata Maroons win Super 4’s Twenty20 Tournament

Kandurata Maroons beat Basnahira Greens by 7 wickets to win the final of the Sri Lanka cricket inter province Twenty20 tournament at Colombo R. Premadasa Stadium today and ensured them a berth in the Champions League T20 to be played in India in September.
Nuwan Kulasekara’s early wickets formed the bedrock of the victory, as Basnahira failed to muster a counterattack, despite an unbeaten 53 from Angelo Mathews.
With only 110 to chase, Kandurata’s batsmen were rarely tested, and cruised to the target with three overs remaining.
Kandurata had been the best side of the tournament, having won their first two matches.
