Twenty-seven persons preparing to illegally travel to Australia by boat have been arrested by police following operations carried out in 3 separate locations.
They were arrested according to information received by the Ambalangoda Police, while they were in hiding in Ambalangoda, Minuwangoda and Beruwala areas.
Police said six women and 4 children are among those arrested.
