VIDEO: Trade Unions cannot take decisions to increase bus fares - NTC

Trade Unions cannot take decisions to increase bus fares, Chairman of the National Transport Commission, Roshan Gunawardena stated. He added that bus fares will not be increased at this point in time.

 

Speaking at a press conference held in Colombo today (September 2), Gunawardena said that the bus fare increases depended on 12 criteria and claimed with certainty that bus fares will not be increased at this time.

 

He added that the Attorney General’s office has stated that the NTC can take a decision on the matter while a cabinet committee has been appointed regarding this matter.
