Indian national arrested with gold hidden in his rectum

An Indian national was taken into custody by Customs officials at the airport early this morning (September 4) for attempting to smuggle a stock of gold in his rectum.
Customs Media Spokesman, Leslie Gamini stated that the suspect was apprehended at around 1.10am this morning while 477 grams of gold was found inside a condom which was hidden in his rectum.
The suspect was also wearing two gold bangles and a ring at the time of the arrest.
The two bangles were weighed at 45g while the ring was 15g, Customs reported.
The total value of the gold was around Rs.2.7 million.
