Former MP Dayasiri Jayasekara has sought assistance from the President and Defence Secretary to locate his friend and supporter, Sarath Ratnayake, a millionaire businessman who is reportedly missing since last night.

Ratnayake’s wife has lodged a complaint with Hettipola and Wariyapola Police Stations stating that her husband has been missing since 9.00pm yesterday (4).

He is a longtime supporter of the former UNP Kurunegala District parliamentarian, who is contesting for the North Western Provincial Council under the UPFA ticket.

Jayasekara says he had contacted the President and Defence Secretary to inform them regarding the disappearance and requested for assistance to find Ratnayake before his life is harmed.

Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa had informed him that two special security teams have already commenced investigations into the disappearance.

Jayasekara says he believes this may be the result of a conspiracy to tarnish his image and credibility by a certain group who are embroiled in a battle for preferential votes and that they intend to remove those close to him with fear or money.
