Fire breaks out at tyre factory

A fire broke out at a tyre factory in the Industrial Estate in Laksha Uyana, Polonnaruwa this morning.
The fire was quelled following 3-hour effort by the fire brigade of the Thamankaduwa Pradeshiya Sabha, factory workers and residents in the area.
The flames had caused severe damage to the factory building and equipment, Ada Derana reporter said.
However, the cause for the fire has not been determined yet and the total damages have not been estimated.
Polonnaruwa Police are conducting further investigations.
