
The home of Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Provincial Council candidate Anandi Sridharan was attacked last night (September 19) by an unknown gang, an Ada Derana correspondent reported.
The attack occurred at around midnight yesterday while a group of election observers were also attacked in the incident which left eight persons injured.
Representatives of the CaFFE and PAFFREL organizations were among the injured persons.
Sridharan, who is the wife of the former LTTE Political Wing Leader in Trincomalee, Elilan, was however not present during the attack.
She held discussions with UN Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay during her visit and is set to give evidence to the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC).
