The United People’s Freedom Alliance received 225,307 votes (68.87%) in the Nuwara Eliya District defeating the United National Party who came in second with 67,263 votes (20%).
The Up Country People’s Front meanwhile received a total of 23,455 votes (7.17%) to come in third in the Central Province district.
The UPFA won 11 seats out of the 16 allotted to the district while the UNP and UCPF won 4 seats and 1 seat respectively.
