Two Indian nationals have been arrested at the Katunayake International Airport this morning when they attempted to leave the country with a “gold stick” and 10,000 Euros concealed inside their rectal cavities.
The two suspects had arrived at the airport to board a flight to Chennai at 5.30am today when they were detected due to suspicious behavior.
One of the Indian men had concealed a pure gold stick in his rectum while the other was canceling 10,000 Euros, Customs Media Spokesman Leslie Gamini said.
He stated that investigations are being carried out by customs officers at Katunayake Airport.
This is the 9th detection of gold being smuggled inside rectal cavities within the month.
