Four Sri Lankan nationals who attempted to fly to Colombo using fake passports on Sunday were detained in Chennai, Indian media reported.
Mariam Sharmila, Parvathan, Sasikaran and Jeevandeeva attempted the board an Air India Express flight to Sri Lanka on Sunday morning.
The immigration authorities, who inspected the passports of the passengers, grew suspicious and questioned them and uncovered the fraud, The Hindu reports.
