Body of man killed by elephant attack found in Meegasweva

The body of a man was found last night (October 1) in the Meegasweva area in Nikaweratiya while he is believed to have died following an elephant attack.
The victim was a 60-year-old man who was missing since Sunday (September 29), police stated.
His relatives had searched for the victim following his disappearance while his body was found in a forest area near his home.
The Nikaweratiya police are conducting further inquiries into the incident.
