Police Constable killed in motorcycle collision

A police officer was killed when his motorcycle collided with a van on the Wennappuwa-Lunuwila road in the Suduwella area last night (October 13) at around 11.20pm, police reported.
The victim of the incident was a police constable (61594) attached to the Marawila police.
The constable had finished his duties and was on his way home when the collision took place while he was rushed to the Marawila hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The van driver was taken into custody over the incident while the van was seized as well. The Wennappuwa police will conduct further inquiries.
