Court grants bail to 48 suspects of Matara UNP clash

The Matara Magistrate granted bail to 48 suspects in the case surrounding the clash between two sets of UNP supporters which erupted in Matara earlier this month.

 

The court ordered the suspects to be released on a personal bail of Rs.100,000 each.

 

The suspects were to be presented in an identification parade in court today (October 21) but due to the fact that Herman Gunaratane is still receiving treatment at hospital the court decided to postpone proceedings.

 

The case will be taken up again on November 25.
