Indian minister of state in PMO V. Narayanasamy on Saturday, albeit, indirectly, said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would not attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Colombo.
“The Prime Minister will look into the concerns and sentiments of Tamil Nadu and will take a good decision and announce it,” Narayanasamy said when reporters in Chennai sought to know about India’s participation in CHOGM in Sri Lanka next month.
“There is still time for India to take a decision on the Prime Minister’s visit to Colombo,” he said when asked when it would be announced. “It (summit) is still 20 days away,” he said apparently indicating the decision would be announced ahead of the meeting.
The minister said the Centre had received a copy of the Assembly resolution. “Besides, we have received separate letters from chief minister J. Jayalalithaa and DMK president M. Karunanidhi.” – Deccan Chronicle
