Police looking for Buddhist monk accused of molestation

The Marawila police have begun investigations to find and arrest a Buddhist monk accused of molesting a 13 year old student.
The victim is a student studying in grade 9 in a school in the Naththandiya area.
The Buddhist monk is reported to be a teacher in the school that the victim attends while police stated that the child was molested while attending drama and singing practices.
The student told police that the abuse had been taking place from September within the school premises and the temple at which the accused monk was residing.
The Marawila police are conducting further investigations while the suspect has not been taken into custody yet.
