
A Sri Lankan woman who attempted to illegally smuggle medicinal drugs worth nearly Rs 350,000 into the country has been arrested by customs officers at the Katunayake International Airport this morning.
Sri Lanka Customs media spokesman Leslie Gamini stated that woman had arrived from Mumbai on flight UL 142 at around 5.45am today (3).
She was arrested after several medicinal drugs, mostly painkillers, valued at Rs 345,975 were found concealed in her luggage.
The stock of drugs have been confiscated while an Investigation is being carried out by customs at airport, he said.
