Police find dead body in paddy field; cause of death still unknown

The body of a man was found in the Panangoda area of Naththandiya last evening (November 5) while authorities are still to uncover the cause of the man’s death.
The body was found in a paddy field by police who had received information about a dead body in the area.
The deceased was 47 year old Hettiarachchilage Don Ranjith who was a resident of the Panangoda area, an Ada Derana correspondent reported.
The victim’s wife is employed abroad while his young daughter is married and living separately which meant Ranjith lived alone in his home.
The body was taken to the Chilaw General Hospital while authorities are investigating the causes for his death.
The Marawila police are conducting further inquiries.
