No leave for Prisons Department employees during CHOGM

The Prisons Department has cancelled all its employees’ leave requests until November 20 in an attempt to tighten security in prisons during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
It is reported that a special security programme will be implemented daily in the prisons during this time period.
The Prisons Department stated that these measures are being taken as there is a risk of prison inmates acting in a disorderly manner during the CHOGM period.
