Man arrested for repeatedly raping 13-year-old daughter

A thirty-eight year old man has been arrested on charges of raping his 13- year old daughter on multiple occasions, Puttalam Police said.
The victim, a grade 8 student, and her two younger sisters reside at Athungoda in Kottukachchiya under the care of her father. Their mother is employed in a foreign country, Ada Derana reporter said.
The father had sexually abused the girl on several previous occasions while she had informed her grandmother, who in turn had lodged a complaint with Puttalam Police.
The suspect has been arrested by police while the girl has been subject to a medical examination, which has confirmed that she had been raped on multiple occasions.
The girl’s father is to be produced at the Puttalam District Court.
