Act like Winston Churchill - Cameron tells President

The President of Sri Lanka should follow the example of Winston Churchill and seek a postwar reconciliation with the Tamil community, UK Prime Minister David Cameron said today.
The Times publication reported that the Prime Minister also drew parallels between Sri Lanka and Northern Ireland as he prepared to confront Mahinda Rajapaksa over human rights abuses at the start of the Commonwealth summit.
“The war has been won, and that’s a huge relief to people in Sri Lanka but, as Churchill said, ‘in victory, magnanimity’, and Rajapaksa has the opportunity, having won the war, to show real generosity and reconciliation,” Mr Cameron said.
