VIDEO: Media barred from covering Cameron, TNA meeting

British Prime Minister David Cameron, who is the country for the Commonwealth summit, today held discussions with the Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Vigneswaran at the Jaffna Library.
Cameron reached Palaly Airport in a Sri Lanka Air Force plane this afternoon and then traveled to Jaffna Town. The British PM was greeted at the Jaffna library by Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader R. Sampanthan and Vigneswaran.
A large number of local and foreign media personnel had gathered to cover the meeting, however no journalists were allowed to do so, Ada Derana reporter said.
Meanwhile a group claiming to be relatives of those who have disappeared during the war engaged in a protest near the venue of the meeting.
However, local journalists covered the agitation with great difficulty due to the protesters mainly allowing only foreign media personnel to cover the protest, Ada Derana reporter said.
Meanwhile another group led by the New Zealand Foreign Minister, Murray McCully also engaged in a tour of Jaffna this evening.
As McCully was preparing to depart by helicopter from the Duraiappa Stadium in Jaffna, Northern Provincial Councilor M. K. Shivajilingam had shouted out after him, also in a bid to draw the attention of foreign journalists, Ada Derana reporter said.
