30 hospitalized after wasp attack at school

At least thirty individuals including 27 children have been hospitalized after being attacked by a swarm of wasps at the Siripura Junior School in Aralaganwila.
It has been reported that a group of grade 3 students attending after school classes were subject to the wasp attack, which had occurred at around 2.30pm yesterday (15).
Eleven boys, sixteen girls, a female teacher and two adult males were among those admitted to the Dehiattakandiya Hospital following the incident.
Police said that a wasp nest located in a tree at the school yard was disrupted due to the wind resulting in the wasp attack.
