A person convicted of raping the wife of a police officer was sentenced to 22 years rigorous imprisonment by the Anuradhapura High Court.
He was also fined Rs.3000 and an additional 3 months in prison if he failed to pay the fine.
The 32 year old man from Vanniyankulama, Anuradhapura stood accused of committing the crime somewhere around April 17, 2010.
