A/L student arrested with heroin at school

An 18-year-old student has been arrested for the possession of 3 packets of heroin after police, acting on information received, carried out a search at a school in Polgahawela today.
The Grace 13 Advanced Level student will be produced before the Polgahawela Magistrate’s Court, the Police Spokesman’s Office said.
Police said that another suspect who had allegedly supplied the heroin to the student has also been arrested while two more heroin packets were found in his possession.
Police said that the circulation of drugs such as heroin within the school system is a regrettable situation and urged parents to continuously direct their attention towards the excessive spending of their children and changes in behavior.
