Four wild elephants were killed after being electrocuted in the Gannoruwa area in Hambantota this morning.
The elephants had come into contact with an electric wire used to protect cultivation, the Hambantota Wildlife Office said.
The electricity wire was reportedly powered by a domestic electric circuit.
One suspect has been arrested over the incident while Hambantota Police are conducting further investigations.
