
In two different coordinated sea-air operations, the Indian Coast Guard officials apprehending 22 Sri Lankans in four fishing boats off the Krishnapatnam coast.
Indian Coast Guard spokesman said four Sri Lankan boats were apprehended by the Indian Coast Guard ship Rajveer and Sarang on Saturday and Sunday.
Coastguard said the boats -Neil Marine Rider (IMUL-A-0723 MTR/MUFAR/MD/165), Kapil Buddha (IMUL-A-CHW), Nethmi Gandara (IMULA 0792 MTR) and Mofar (IMUL 0573 MTR)- were seized under the Maritime Zone of India Act 1981.
All the four boats are being escorted to Chennai for handing over the arrested men to the local police, coast guard officials said, the New Indian Express reports.
