Police officer killed in motorbike accident

A police officer was killed in a motorbike accident last night (November 25) on the Puttalam-Mannar road, the Puttalam police stated.
The officer who was killed, Ajith Premalal Wickremarathne, was attached to the Wanathavilluwa police (59817).
The incident occurred at around 11pm last night near the fourth-mile post on the Puttalam-Mannar road. The victim was travelling towards Puttalam with another police officer when the accident took place.
The other policeman on the motorbike sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Puttalam hospital.
Police revealed that it was unclear as to how the accident had taken place while a post mortem will be conducted.
