Although the government said that the casino trade will be limited to Colombo, it is already making plans to develop the business in the Katana area, UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake stated.
Speaking at a press conference held in Colombo today (November 27) the MP said that the government was providing tax concessions to James Packer but providing no relief to the public.
Karunanayake claimed that the government had not provided any relief to those in the private sector through the budget for 2014 while dragging the country into debt.
He demanded that the government stop pick pocketing the people of the country.
The MP added that the gas companies have requested the government for a price increase while he warned the public that gas prices will be increased in the near future.
