Drunk woman who torched house arrested

Dankotuwa Police have arrested a 48-year-old woman who allegedly torched a house in Thamarakuliya, Dankotuwa under the influence of alcohol.
The owner of a brick factory, Rohana Chandalal, had lodged a complaint with police stating that the suspect, an employee at the factory, had been staying at the workers’ quarters located near the factory.
However, the woman had argued with him after consuming alcohol and had proceeded to set fire to the house, where she was staying at around 11.00pm last night.
Police then arrested the woman who has been charged with arson.
The damages caused by the fire are yet to be estimated while Dankotuwa Police are conducting further investigations.
