VIDEO: Protesters use dead body to block road

A group of protesters in the Ambanwela area blocked off the Anuradhapura-Northern railway track on the Anuradhapura-Kurunegala road this afternoon (December 5) by placing the body of a victim of a wild elephant attack across the track, police stated.
The protest began this afternoon at 1pm while the Ambanwela police advised the public to use alternate routes.
The protesters had also blocked the road using wooden beams.
The body is that of a victim of a wild elephant attack which occurred two days ago.
