Eight DIGs transferred

Eight Deputy Inspector Generals of Police (DIGs) have been transferred with effect from next Tuesday (Dec 10), the Police Department said today.

Maxi Proctor has been transferred to serve as DIG in charge of Ratnapura and Kegalle districts, Rohan Dias to Jaffna District, Jayantha Wickramasinghe to Vavuniya District and T.B. Samsudeen to Nuwara Eliya District.

Gamini Mathurata has been transferred to serve as the DIG in charge of Galle District while DIG U.K. Dissanayake will be in charge of Killinochchi District.

Accordingly Mahesh Perera, who was the DIG in charge of Ratnapura and Kegalle districts, has been appointed as the Police Special Branch DIG.

Kithsiri Ganegama who served in the Jaffna District has been transferred as the DIG of Puttalam District, police headquarters said.
