
Two persons have been arrested in connection with presenting two forged certificates to a charted accountancy firm. The arrests were made by the Fraud Investigation Bureau in Wellawatte, following investigations into a complaint received by them.
Two forged degree certificates of Kelaniya and Sri Jayawadenapura universities and two forged income records have been found in the possession of the suspects.
Following investigations carried out into the suspects police also managed to recover a computer, a scanner and printing machine used by them to create the fake documents.
The arrested suspects, residents of Kaduwela and Biyagama, are to be produced at the Aluthkade Magistrates’ Court while the Police Fraud Investigation Bureau is conducting further investigations.
