The Department of Meteorology has predicted several spells of showers in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and the Galle and Matara districts for tomorrow (30).

A few showers may also occur in the North-Western Province.

Showers or thundershowers are expected at several places in the Central, Uva and Eastern provinces, as well as in the Polonnaruwa and Hambantota districts, after 1.00 p.m. Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm is likely at some locations in these areas, the Met. Department noted.

Mainly fair weather conditions are expected to prevail in other parts of the island.

Meanwhile, the general public has been advised to take adequate precautions to minimise potential damage caused by temporary, localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
